Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, Indiana is seeking a compassionate Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications, provide daily care, and support residents' health, safety, and comfort. You will document all medications and treatments per policy, follow physician orders, monitor residents, and keep confidential records under nurse supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification in good standing as required.
• Completed state-approved training for medication administration and QMA certification.
• High school diploma or GED; ability to follow physician orders and nursing policies.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and document all administrations per policy.
• Provide daily care, health monitoring and resident safety support.
• Perform treatments per physician orders and maintain secure medication cart.
• Check catheters and provide care as assigned by the nurse.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and care records.
• Document treatments and medications in nursing notes per facility policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee.

Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Primary Responsibilities

The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.

Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Essential Functions

• The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.


• QMA's administer and document oral medications, eye medications, topical medications, suppository medications, ear drops and all others as ordered by the physician


• Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders


• Maintain locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy


• Check catheters frequently and providing catheter care as assigned by the nurse


• QMA's will document all medications and treatments given in the medication record and in the nurses notes according to policy


• Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all times


• Performing other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee

Qualifications

Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Qualifications

• Must be certified by the State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing


• Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the State Department of Health


• Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of employment.
