Job summary

Lilly is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join the Global PKPD group and develop AI-powered QSP models that integrate biology, pharmacology, and data to drive pivotal decisions in drug discovery.

You will work on mechanistic PK/PD modeling, parameter estimation, and cross-functional collaboration, contributing to translational insights and publications. This fixed-duration role offers opportunities for extension and future full-time placement.

Qualifications

  • PhD in quantitative pharmacology, systems biology, or related field.
  • Experience in developing QSP/mechanistic PKPD models or ODE-based models for biological systems.
  • Experience with development of virtual patient populations.
  • Experience with R, MATLAB/SimBiology, Python, NONMEM, Monolix or related software.
  • Experience with parameter estimation and sensitivity analysis.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidate preclinical and clinical data to inform model design.
  • Design and implement an ODE-based QSP model capturing PK/PD and biology.
  • Perform parameter estimation, simulations and analyses.
  • Inform dosing strategies and translational questions with model insights.
  • Communicate results to cross-functional teams and maintain documentation.
  • Present findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
