Job summary

Thomas Young Group in NYC is seeking an acting Principal-level structural engineer to lead QPSI-related inspections and filings as the internal technical authority. You will guide projects end-to-end, directly with building owners, reducing reliance on external consultants.

The role emphasizes Local Law 11 / FISP inspections, façade assessments, and regulatory submissions. You will mentor junior engineers, stamp reports, and coordinate with owners, contractors, and internal teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience in NYC.
• Active New York PE license required; QPSI certification preferred.
• Experience with Local Law 11 / FISP inspections.
• Strong background in façade assessments, structural repairs, and remediation.
• Comfortable as a technical authority and client-facing lead.
• Strong written communication skills for reports and regulatory submissions.

This NYC-based engineering team manages building portfolios across the five boroughs with a focus on façades, structural systems, and regulatory compliance. Engineers get to guide projects end to end, coordinating directly with owners instead of working through layers of external consultants. What we're looking for:
