Thomas Young Group in NYC is seeking an acting Principal-level structural engineer to lead QPSI-related inspections and filings as the internal technical authority. You will guide projects end-to-end, directly with building owners, reducing reliance on external consultants.

The role emphasizes Local Law 11 / FISP inspections, façade assessments, and regulatory submissions. You will mentor junior engineers, stamp reports, and coordinate with owners, contractors, and internal teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience in NYC.
• Active New York PE license required; QPSI certification preferred.
• Experience with Local Law 11 / FISP inspections.
• Strong background in façade assessments, structural repairs, and remediation.
• Comfortable as a technical authority and client-facing lead.
• Strong written communication skills for reports and regulatory submissions.

Responsabilités

• Lead QPSI-related inspections and filings as the internal technical authority.
• Oversee façade and structural assessments under Local Law 11.
• Review, stamp, and sign off on reports, drawings, and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with building owners, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Reduce reliance on external QPSI consultants by building internal expertise.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and condition assessments across NYC.
