Job summary

LVI Associates in New York City is seeking a Senior Restoration Engineer to lead exterior restoration and rehabilitation efforts across a diverse portfolio, from multifamily and mixed-use properties to historic and high-rise buildings.

The successful candidate will oversee project execution, interact with clients, mentor staff, and provide technical oversight, driving high-quality outcomes on complex projects throughout NYC.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in restoration, rehabilitation, structural eng, or building envelope consulting.
• Strong façade inspection and repair design experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s and PE preferred.
• Experience with RAM/STAAD/RISA and AutoCAD; proficient with MS Office.
• Experience in NYC projects is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple restoration and rehabilitation projects simultaneously from initial assessment through construction completion.
• Lead façade, roofing, waterproofing, plaza, parking structure, and building envelope repair projects.
• Perform and oversee building condition assessments and forensic investigations.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, technical documentation, and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate restoration design efforts, repair recommendations, and construction documents.
• Conduct field investigations using lifts, scaffolding, rope access, and rooftop inspections.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing allocations, and deliverables.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, contractors, ownership groups, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in proposal preparation, project scoping, and business development initiatives.
• Perform structural evaluations and engineering calculations related to repair and rehabilitation projects.

• Strong report writing, communication, and organizational skills


• Experience working on projects throughout New York City
