This Position reports to:

Service Center Manager, PAPI Upper Midwest

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service, planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timelines and expectations.

The work model for the role is remote.

This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Stevens Point, WI.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the customer (on-site) to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points.
  2. Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and analyze through remote or on-site activities in service categories and products for which certified.
  3. Prepare material lists needed for service activity, ensuring availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment.
  4. Act as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Requirements:

  1. Associate’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control experience, or HS diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
  2. Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multimeters; basic electrical theory and safety knowledge.
  3. Ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
  4. Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance.
  5. Basic understanding of paper making process and process control is a plus.
  6. Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  7. Travel up to 15% for training and support.
  8. Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
