Reporting To

Service Center Manager, PAPI Upper Midwest

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work based on customer orders and expectations. You will showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timelines and expectations.

The work model for this role is remote. It contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Stevens Point, WI.

You will mainly be accountable for:

  1. Working with the customer (on-site) to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Performing field service tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
  3. Preparing material lists needed for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  4. Acting as a trainer when needed for field service associates and customers.
Team Dynamics

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a related field with 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control experience, or HS diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multimeters.
  • Mechanical/Electrical aptitude with a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of voltage systems above 240 VAC/870 VDC.
  • Comfortable with basic hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of paper making and process control is a plus.
  • Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for training and support.
  • Must have valid work authorization for employment in the US.
