Reporting To

Service Center Manager, PAPI Upper Midwest

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service, plan and perform service work based on customer orders and expectations, and ensure customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model for this role is remote. It contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division.

You will mainly be responsible for:

  1. Working with the customer on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and analyzing problems through remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
  3. Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  4. Acting as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field with 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control experience, or HS diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multimeters.
  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude, basic electrical theory, and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of voltage systems above 240 VAC/870 VDC.
  • Comfortable with basic hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of paper making processes and process control is a plus.
  • Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Travel up to 80% may be required for training and site support.
  • Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
