Position Overview

This position reports to:

Service Center Manager - PAPI West Region

In this role, you will execute service work according to work instructions, ABB quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work as per customer orders and expectations, ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service timelines and expectations.

The work model is: Remote

This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and analyze problems through remote or on-site activities within certified service categories and products.
  3. Prepare material lists for service activities, ensuring the availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment.
  4. Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a related field with 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multimeters.
  • Basic electrical theory knowledge and electrical safety awareness.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
  • Experience diagnosing electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of voltage systems above 240 VAC/870 VDC is preferred.
  • Comfort with basic hand tools.
  • Understanding of the paper-making process and process control is a plus.
  • Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% for training and site support.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.
