Job summary

Sensient Technologies is seeking a Quality Control Technician (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday) to conduct analytical testing, develop test methods, and interpret results on-site in St. Louis, MO.

You will work with ICP, HPLC, GC/MS, and other lab instrumentation, adhering to GLP and GMP procedures. Responsibilities include leading sample analysis within lead times, performing instrument maintenance with service engineers, and contributing to method improvements and root-cause analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a technical degree with a strong Analytical Chemistry background.
• 5+ years of experience in a high throughput quality control lab.
• Strong background in analytical instrumentation including GC-MS, LC-MS, and ICP.
• Experience in a third-party testing lab is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing lab projects and working with small to mid-size teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage analysis of samples and data within lead times.
• Operate and maintain ICP, HPLC, GC/MS and various lab instrumentation per GLP and GMP.
• Evaluate new test methods and review current methods for improvements.
• Participate in Formal Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions.
• Communicate lab data and results to other departments, verbally and in writing.
• Work in interdepartmental teams and with affiliate sites.

As a Quality Control Technician (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday), you will have a strong customer focus and possess a strong working knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and instrumentation skills. This exciting role is responsible for conducting analytical testing, developing new test methods, and interpreting test results.

What You’ll Do

• Independently manage the analysis of samples and data ensuring each sample comes off within its allotted lead time
• Operate and maintain ICP, HPLC, GC/MS and various lab instrumentation using accepted GLP and GMP procedures. Work with service engineers to perform routine maintenance to minimize instrument down time
• Evaluate new test methods to bring to on site and routinely review current methods and suggest any improvements
• Participate in Formal Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions
• Effectively communicate, both verbally and written, lab data and results to other departments
• Work in interdepartmental teams and with affiliate sites

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Higher education in a Technical Degree with a strong Analytical Chemistry background
• 5-years of experience working in a high throughput quality control lab
• A strong background in analytical instrumentation and analysis including, but not limited to, GC-MS, LC-MS, and ICP
• Prior experiencing working in a third-party testing lab strongly preferred
• Experiencing managing lab projects and working with a small to mid-size teams
