Job summary

Sensient Technologies is seeking a Quality Control Tech I for Harbor Beach, MI. The role analyzes critical parameters to ensure high-quality production and utilizes calibration procedures, aseptic technique, and basic process controls during the night shift.

You will perform texture, moisture, pH, salt, and acidity tests, microbiological analyses, and maintain clear records while supporting process improvements and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Interest or background in laboratory or scientific work, particularly in food, chemical, or microbiological testing.
• Willingness to follow established procedures and troubleshoot simple equipment issues.
• Ability to stay focused and organized while juggling multiple testing responsibilities.
• Comfort with basic math, measurement, and documentation; clear communication with team and supervisors.
• Training provided; degree helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Quality Control Tech I to join our team in Harbor Beach, MI. The QC Tech will analyze various critical parameters of processes and products to ensure that the facility is efficiently producing high quality products. Individuals will understand and effectively utilize calibration procedures, aseptic technique, basic process control as well as troubleshoot analytical equipment problems during the night production shift.

What you’ll do

• Conduct a variety of tests on raw materials and finished products, including texture, moisture, pH, salt levels, and acidity
• Perform microbiological analyses such as plate counts and swabbing procedures
• Use precise techniques to support the calibration and upkeep of lab instruments
• Document and interpret test results while maintaining clear, accurate records
• Assist with reviewing materials for quality compliance and managing inventory status
• Help organize and facilitate sensory panels to evaluate product characteristics
• Collaborate with team members to support process improvements and maintain standards
