Job summary

Enpro Industries, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician II to perform metrology for product manufacturing, ensuring dimensions meet purchase orders and drawings. You will support production with inspections and tests, maintaining accurate records and contributing to consistent quality.

The role requires 2–5 years in a quality function, proficiency with measuring instruments, GD&T knowledge, and solid documentation skills. On-site in Illinois with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician II is responsible for the metrology of product manufacturing and ensures the dimensions and form of the product meets Purchase Order and Drawing requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Supports production by performing basic to intermediate quality inspections and tests to ensure products meet established standards
  • Contributes to maintaining product quality and consistency
  • Handles moderately complex inspection tasks and testing procedures
  • Identifies and investigates quality issues, providing preliminary analysis
  • Makes decisions on product acceptance based on established criteria
  • Recommends corrective actions for recurring quality issues
  • Maintains clear and accurate inspection records
  • Collaborates with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns
  • Conduct intermediate level inspections and tests and products and materials
  • Analyze test data and prepare reports
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment
  • Assist in developing inspection procedures and checklists
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a Quality related job function in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with intermediate measuring instruments and testing equipment
  • Experience with quality management software systems
  • Must demonstrate great attention to detail, both on products and documentation
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office products
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Interpret and understand both internal and external specifications
  • Build and maintain inspection records.
  • Basic math skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
