Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of quality inspector experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic math for reading drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of materials, components, and finished products.
  • Perform inspections of machined parts with close tolerances using precision instruments.
  • Conduct first piece, in-process and final inspections per specs and drawings.
  • Use equipment such as comparator, toolmaker microscope, and contour reader per procedures.
  • Check drawings, prints, and specifications for dimensional requirements.
  • Determine acceptance or rejection of items and document results.
  • Notify supervisors of failures to meet customer specifications.
  • Prepare inspection papers and labels; process shipping papers per order.
  • Maintain records and keep work area clean and safe.
  • Move materials as needed and follow company rules for quality standards.

Job description

The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing advanced level of inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. This position is focused on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non-conformances. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely with production teams to ensure product quality.

  • Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Perform difficult product inspection duties involving the inspection of machined/manufactured products having very close tolerances including various precision parts and assemblies requiring the use of various types of precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Conduct first piece, in-process and final inspections for quality and appearance, in accordance with customer/company specifications, where general methods are available.
  • Use specified equipment such as comparator, toolmaker microscopes, contour reader etc., where standard procedures/instructions apply.
  • Check drawings, prints, and specifications for dimensional requirements.
  • Examine products to obtain specified dimensions involved and determine acceptance or rejection of items.
  • Notify shop supervisor and own supervisor of failures to meet customer specifications.
  • Perform related duties of preparing inspection papers, accept/reject tags. etc. and fill out shipping papers with each order.
  • Follow guides on sample or full inspection of product.
  • Notify supervisor of problems.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow established company rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three years' of quality inspector experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Requires the use of mathematics. Together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, precision instruments, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercisejudgment.

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience.

$26.00 - $30.00 / hour
