Job summary

Ampacet-Corporation seeks a Quality Control Technician to performAmpacet’s test methods on finished products and raw materials, ensuring conformity to customer and internal specs. You will maintain accurate data, visually inspect products, and adjust formulations for color and ash, while following safety policies.

The role includes supporting other lab staff and handling additional duties as assigned. Second shift runs from 3 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to demonstrate good math skills.
• Ability to distinguish color.
• Must interact with all departments within the organization.
• Experience in Excel is preferred.
• Must pass Ampacet’s math and color test for consideration.
• Must maintain confidentiality with proprietary formulations.

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing Ampacet’s test methods on finished products and raw materials to determine if the materials are acceptable to customer and internal specifications, while maintaining accurate data collection and test records.

Responsibilities

• Testing and inspection of finished goods and raw materials.
• Keeping accurate legible records of test data and information related to the quality of the finished product.
• Visual examination of the finished product to insure it meets our quality requirements.
• Making adjustments to the formulation to obtain the proper color and ash.
• Working safely and adhering to all laboratory and plant safety policies.
• Assisting other laboratory personnel with their work, when time permits.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Ability to demonstrate good math skills.
• Ability to distinguish color.

• Must be able to successfully pass Ampacet’s math and color test for consideration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional education in Chemistry, Test Methods or other related QC work.
• Minimum 2 years of lab experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Work Environment/Physical Conditions

Wears and properly utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, PAPRs, ear plugs, steel-toed boots, protective gloves, fall protection devices and/or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. Must successfully pass a company physical. Able to lift up to 70 lbs. Be capable of twisting, bending, stooping, standing, walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, sometimes using steps or ladders. Be able to work in adverse weather conditions/temperatures.
