Location: Olathe, KS

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of products produced at our plant. Your primary focus will be on conducting thorough quality control inspections, analyzing samples, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high product standards. If you have a strong background in quality control processes, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for maintaining product integrity, we want to hear from you!

The Quality Control Technician position is based out of our Olathe, KS quarry. Coverage includes the Olathe, Lone Elm, and Eudora quarries, as well as customer locations on an as-needed basis. Our main lab is in Louisburg, KS. On-the-job training will be provided both at Olathe and in Louisburg for our specific testing procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform general cleaning of work areas, including 5S.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance at assigned times.
  • Drive 130-220 miles daily in a company vehicle.
  • Lift 50-70 pounds to chest height multiple times daily.
  • Build good relationships with customers and State technicians.
  • Manage time effectively.
  • Clean lab building and perform general 5S duties.
  • Maintain lab equipment.
  • Enter data accurately.
  • Find specifications and testing methods on the computer.
  • Email testing results to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in quality control or related field preferred.
  • One to three years of related experience in the sand or construction materials industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles, practices, and testing methods.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment such as sieves, balances, and moisture meters.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and record-keeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail to identify deviations or inconsistencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including some Saturdays if required.
