Job summary

Standard Process Inc. is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to support microbiology testing and quality control in our Palmyra, WI facility. You will follow strict procedures, assist with calibrations, and help maintain GLP/GMP documentation to ensure product safety and compliance.

The role requires a High School Diploma and ideally an Associate Science Lab degree or related coursework, with up to 1 year of experience. Teamwork and a proactive attitude are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform basic microbiology tasks: weigh samples for testing and pH samples.
• Test products and swabs for bacteria and allergens; document results.
• Generate GMP & GLP documentation for quality control.
• Calibrate instruments daily and maintain supplies inventory.
• Verify product safety and prepare reagents for assays.
• Assist with daily incubator checks and general lab tasks.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic microbiology tasks such as weighing samples for testing and pH'ing of samples
• Test products and environmental swabs for relevant bacteria (coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Listeria, etc.)
• Test products for allergens (Gluten, etc.)
• Generate GMP & GLP documentation for quality control
• Perform instrument calibration including daily pipette and scale calibrations
• Maintain inventory of microbiology supplies
• Verify product safety
• Prepare reagents for various assays
• Perform organoleptic testing on products
• Sample environmental swabs, products or raw materials as needed
• Perform Lab functions in a timely matter
• Help with other tasks such as daily incubator checks and cleaning as need

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma undefined
• Certifications/Licenses: 2 year Associate Science Lab degree (Associate Lab Technician) preferred and/or additional college courses and work related experience
• Experience: Up to 1 year; entry level position

This job operates in a professional Laboratory environment and routinely uses standard equipment such as computers and Scientific Instruments. This is an active role; much of the day will be spent on your feet analyzing samples and, this role may also have to do some light to moderate lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
