Job summary

RJW Logistics Group is seeking a Quality Control Lead to perform pallet QC, identify mispicks, and coordinate with Inventory Control to correct errors and rebuild pallets.

The role requires at least 1 year in QC, familiarity with RF scanners, and basic computer skills. Forklift certification is a plus; performers must maintain safety and effective communication within the team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in a QC role or related knowledge.
  • Experience with WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • Ability to read and write emails and operate basic software.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QC checks on pallets for construction integrity and mispicks.
  • Work with Inventory Control Clerks to correct errors and rebuild pallets.
  • Maintain clear communication with QC team and management.
  • Utilize RF scanners and pallet movement knowledge to ensure accuracy.
  • Be proactive in preventing recurring problems and follow safety practices.

Pay: $20-$23/hr.

Job Purpose:

The Quality Control Associate performs quality control (QC) functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mispicks and misplaced cases. Quality Control Associate will also work with Inventory Control Clerks to correct all errors and rebuild pallets.

  • Equipment Knowledge & QC Area Operations
  • Be familiar with RF scanners and their functions.
  • Have working knowledge of Sit-Down (SD) and Clamp Trucks, or at minimum understand their basic operation & purpose.
  • Understand proper pallet movement within the QC area.
  • Understand pallet breakdown requirements and final pallet quantities per load to maintain an organized and safe QC area.

  • Safety Safety must always be a priority for a QC Lead. The Lead is expected to set the example and reinforce safe behaviors within the team.
Key Safety Expectations Include
  • Follow and enforce all warehouse safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper PPE is being used at all times.
  • Ensure pallets are moved, stacked, and stored safely.
  • Keep aisles, emergency exits, fire equipment, and walkways clear.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, damaged pallets, or potential hazards.
  • Immediately communicate accidents, injuries, near misses, or safety concerns to management.
  • Lead by example and never compromise safety to increase productivity.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Processes Damaged material, ensures Returned Goods are properly inventoried, and monitors Suspense inventory to make certain any/all is properly researched
  • Helps maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by bringing up incorrect practices to the necessary leadership
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Utilize computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in QC role and/or product knowledge required.
  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Education And/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Forklift certification a plus.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work more than continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
