Job summary

RJW Logistics Group in Joliet, IL seeks a Quality & Compliance Lead to oversee the quality department, develop and maintain a system of testing for products and processes, and drive continuous improvements to reduce inbound defects.

This role emphasizes team development, training, and ensuring adherence to retailer standards within a warehouse environment. Experience with quality systems and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English
• Ability to display proficiency in both oral and written routine reports and correspondence.
• Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

Responsibilities

• Training and development of new Quality Inspectors
• Ensures consistency of Quality Inspector performance
• Ensures resources are available to perform job functions
• Provides feedback on inspections and yearly evaluations
• Inbounds inspections to validate quality of cases, pallets and loads

Shift: A-Sunday-Wednesday-5:00am-3:30pm or C2-Mon-Tue-Thur-Fri-5:00am-3:30pm

• Attendance Incentive - Up to $2400 bonus for good attendance. (Refer to Policy for Rules and Details)

• Step increase program- Pay will increase by $.50 after 90 days and again after 180 days (Material Handlers Only)
• Certified/qualified Forklift/Walkie Rider/Cherry Picker drivers will receive an additional $0.50 p.hr

Job Purpose
The Quality and Compliance Lead will oversee activity of the quality department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization's products and/or development processes. The intent of the role is to identify gaps in compliance to our standards in an effort to promote maximum warehouse efficiencies and an elimination of inbound defects from our customers. This role is critical in team development, training and ensuring consistency amongst all. They will be an integral part of the company's overall quality objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for training and development of new Quality Inspectors
• Responsible for consistency of QI of hourly Quality Inspector performance
• Ensures hourly employees have the resources needed to perform job functions
• Provides candid feedback on day to day Quality Inspector performance as well as providing input on yearly evaulations
• Performs Inbound Customer Inspections to validate quality of case, pallet and load inbound to RJWResponsible for strategy and execution of departmental cross-training
• Owns responsibility of driving awareness/education/adherence to Retailer's standards
• Drive and implement improved processes and conduct special projects as guided by direct leadership
• Displays ability to lead and develop a team showing all respect and displays an ability to motivate and accomplish goals.

This is an hourly introduction to leadership role and will have direct reports
Qualifications

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Further ability to apply and put that knowledge into action as inspections are performed.Ability to read and write emails.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.Forklift certification a plus.
  

Computer Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Preferred: Knowledge and proficiency with RJW WMS
