Luxfer Gas Cylinders is seeking a Lead Quality Control Inspector - Portables to oversee daily QC inspections and support production in the metal department. You will inspect materials and products at different stages and record observations to drive improvements.

The position requires a high school diploma and 4–6 years of experience; must read Pi-Tape, Calipers, Depth Gauge, and a weight scale; Excel experience preferred. Drug test and background check required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 4-6 years of related experience.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality function.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to read Pi-Tape, Calipers, Depth Gauge, and a weight scale.
• Able to pass a Drug Test
• Acceptable outcome of a Background Check

Responsibilities

• Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.
• Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production.
• Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
• Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.

• Oversee daily production activities and lot qualification testing as it relates to compliance with all quality requirements.
• Coordinate/lead Non-Conforming Material (NMR) system.
• Perform all receiving, in-process inspection, final inspection, first article conformance inspection, set up verifications and data acquisition verifications on a regular basis.
• Generate nonconforming material reports, review and disposition non-conforming materials.
• Participate as an active member of the material review board.
• Generate rework procedures/instructions.
• Assist in defining and implementing process controls that will enable process improvement through the reduction of process variability.
• Primary role will be in the steel department with support of all metals related operations.
