Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a QC Laboratory Technologist to perform laboratory testing on blood products, interpret results, and ensure quality releases for hospitals. The role supports manufacturing of pathogen-reduced platelet products in a highly regulated setting, demanding attention to detail and customer-focused service.

The position requires an Associate degree (or Bachelor’s in an applied science) and relevant regulatory laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in science or a Bachelor’s degree in an applied science.
• Related experience in regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environments or equivalent.
• Must meet state and CLIA requirements where applicable.
• Ability to operate a wide range of lab equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to advanced laboratory testing procedures on donor specimens and blood products.
• Interpret test results and ensure products meet quality requirements for release.
• Manufacture and prepare pathogen-reduced platelet products for hospital use.
• Meet quality and production goals established by the department.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory and participate in troubleshooting with cross-functional teams.
