Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a QC Lab Technologist in California to perform basic through advanced testing on blood products and to interpret results before release to area hospitals. You will manufacture pathogen-reduced platelet products in a regulated environment, with emphasis on accuracy, detail, and compassionate customer service.

Typical schedule is Tuesday-Saturday 1700-0130, with paid training on day shift.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science or bachelor’s in an applied science.
• Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment and applicable software.
• Ability to work with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to advanced laboratory testing procedures on donor specimens and blood products.
• Meet quality and quantity production and testing goals.
• Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations for products/samples.
• Participate in troubleshooting with cross-functional teams.
