Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a QC Lab Technologist to perform testing on donor specimens and blood products in a regulated environment. You will help manufacture pathogen-reduced platelet products for hospital use and ensure products pass quality standards.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science, lab/manufacturing experience, and the ability to operate diverse lab equipment. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in science; relevant lab/regulatory/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a wide range of lab equipment and software.
• Strong attention to detail and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to advanced laboratory testing on donor specimens and blood products.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements.
• Meet quality and production goals and ensure products are suitable for release.
• Process lab data accurately and manage inventory locations for samples/products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Provide safe handling and proper use of PPE and lab protocols.
