Job summary

The American Red Cross is hiring a QC Lab Technologist to join our blood product testing team in Oregon. This role performs moderate to advanced lab procedures, interpreting results and ensuring products meet release criteria for hospital distribution.

You will work a 4x10 schedule (Wed–Sat, 7pm–5:30am) with paid training on day shift. Requires an Associate degree or Bachelor’s in applied science and experience in regulatory or manufacturing settings. Benefits and shift differentials apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science or bachelor’s degree in an applied science.
• Related experience in regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Must meet state and CLIA requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures and interpret testing on donor specimens and blood products.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements.
• Meet quality and quantity production and testing goals established by the department.
• Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Perform quality control on products, reagents, equipment and test kits; maintain inventory locations.
• Participate in troubleshooting with cross-functional teams.
