Job summary

Actalent in Kokomo, IN seeks a Lab Technician to support quality control in an advanced manufacturing environment. You will evaluate raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, generate accurate laboratory data, and support investigations into quality issues.

The role requires an Associate degree or higher and 2+ years of lab experience, with the ability to work 3rd shift (8:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.) on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in laboratory work, quality control, materials testing, chemical processing, or manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience operating laboratory instrumentation and interpreting analytical test results.
• Knowledge of SOPs, quality systems, and safe laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and quality inspections on raw materials, in-process production samples, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Conduct analytical testing including viscosity, solids content, density, moisture, conductivity, particle size, and other material evaluations.
• Operate analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, spectroscopy, particle size analyzers) to characterize materials and confirm product quality.
• Record, analyze, and clearly communicate test results to production, engineering, and quality teams to support decision-making.
• Verify compliance with product specifications and identify non-conforming materials or results for investigation.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, test records, and quality system compliance for audit readiness.
