Job summary

Atkore in Kokomo, Indiana seeks a Quality Technician (2nd shift, 3:30 pm–12:00 am) to ensure quality parts are produced and nonconforming items are contained. Responsibilities include inspection, first-piece verification, SPC awareness, and proper labeling of finished goods on the production floor.

You will read customer specs, operate measuring devices (tape, calipers, micrometer, digital protractor), and apply GD&T while maintaining safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree or technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in quality inspections, measurement, and spec/print reading.
• SPC knowledge is a plus.
• AS400 and/or JD Edwards knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read customer specs/prints and determine acceptance criteria.
• Experience using measuring devices: tape, calipers, micrometer, digital protractor.
• Strong GD&T understanding and math skills.
• Safety oriented; team player with strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Atkore safety rules.
• Measure, inspect, and document first piece and ongoing production quality.
• Contain non-conforming parts to prevent escapes.
• Label finished goods and identify suspect, rework, or defective product.
• Ensure packaging meets customer requirements.
• On the production floor, perform inspections and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow supervision for all duties.
• Complete integrity immersion program within 3 months.
• Plan, organize, and support QA programs within 6 months.
• Aim for operational excellence and strong customer satisfaction.
