Job summary

Actalent in Kokomo, IN seeks a Quality Control Lab Technician to support testing, inspection, and QA in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will evaluate materials and finished products, generate data, and assist investigations to improve product quality and manufacturing reliability.

The role requires an Associate degree or higher in a related field, 2+ years of lab experience, and proficiency with lab instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP-OES/MS, UV-Vis, and rheology tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Technology, or related field.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience in quality control, materials testing, or manufacturing.
• Experience operating laboratory instrumentation and interpreting analytical test results.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to generate accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
• Familiarity with SOPs, quality systems, and safe laboratory practices.
• Experience in battery materials, conductive slurries, or advanced materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and quality inspections on raw materials, in-process production samples, and finished products.
• Conduct analytical testing including viscosity, solids content, density, moisture, conductivity, particle size.
• Operate analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, spectroscopy, particle size analyzers).
• Collect and prepare samples per SOPs and quality requirements.
• Record, analyze, and communicate test results to production, engineering, and quality teams.
• Verify compliance with specifications and identify non-conforming materials or processes.
