Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology (or other relevant field) preferred.
• QA/QC experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Strong safety record and dedication to safety initiatives.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite desired.
• Solid understanding of statistics desired.
• Solid understanding of cGMP, cGLP, and FCC desired.
• Solid understanding of HACCP preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot standard lab equipment (HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer titrator, protein analyzer, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to both work as a team member and independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide mentorship and feedback.
• Desire to see continuous improvements in processes and programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the lab team to ensure safe operations, conformance to customer quality standards and good laboratory practices.
• Manage data inputs and outputs for the QC lab, including sampling and testing programs.
• Train, lead, and develop laboratory technicians in in-process and finished product testing.
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory records and procedures in line with food standards and regulations.
• Assist with day-to-day lab operations, including ordering supplies and equipment maintenance.
• Review and optimize analytical testing schedules and models; support regulatory compliance.
• Lead root-cause analyses for quality and food safety non-conformities.
• Provide constructive feedback and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
• Support continuous improvements in processes and programs.
