Job summary

Baker Group is seeking a QAQC Specialist to support planning, tracking, and documentation of quality requirements across Mechanical projects in Des Moines, IA. The role coordinates quality activities, conducts audits and inspections, and contributes to timely project closeouts.

The position requires an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years in construction/quality, with certification options such as CWI/CAWI being advantageous. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 4+ years in construction, fabrication, quality, or project execution activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word) for analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Procore, Stratus or similar systems preferred but not required.
• Experience with mechanical piping fabrication, welding documentation, pressure testing or project closeout preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the QAQC primary point of contact at the project level.
• Perform QAQC document control, including organization, version control, and closeout of quality documentation.
• Own and improve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) including action plans and documentation management.
• Assist with NCRs under the Director of OSM - Mechanical.
• Develop, update, and manage ITP action plans in Procore with the team.
• Monitor ITP progress and follow up with project teams to ensure timely inspections and approvals.
• Lead QAQC kickoff meetings communicating requirements and documentation expectations.
• Review material documentation and validate traceability data (MTRs) in Stratus.
• Support QAQC closeout packages ensuring completeness and compliance.
