Job summary

WestRock Coffee is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support daily QA tasks in our production area. You will inspect packing lines and grinders, record readings and monitor changes to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires performing color, moisture, grind and weight checks, documenting results, and segregating nonconforming goods. You will collect samples for sensory analysis and maintain ISO records.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA or food/beverage manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO quality systems and documentation practices.
• Strong math skills for percent calculations and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packing lines and grinders at start of day; record readings.
• Verify grinder/dump changes and packing line adjustments.
• Perform quality checks (roast color, moisture, grind, dust, weights).
• Document results and identify nonconforming goods for disposition.
• Notify QA Supervisor of issues and escalate as needed.
• Inspect returned goods and determine disposition; analyze complaints.
• Collect production samples and send to cupping lab for sensory analysis.
• Log blend changes and quality issues for ISO records.
• Maintain accurate ISO logs and keep work area clean and safe.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for our QA Deprtament.

• Inspect the set-up of all packing lines and grinders at the beginning of the day, verifying the readings and recording the results
• Verify, inspect and record all grinder/dump executions and packing line changes during the course of a day
• Perform quality checks (roast color, % moisture, grind analysis, dust content, weights, etc.) of product soon after a grinder/packing line has undergone an item change
• Document results of quality checks
• Identify and segregate nonconforming goods for proper disposition and notify QA Supervisor or Lead QA Technician
• Visually inspect returned goods delivered by warehouse and, if necessary, perform analysis on goods and record results
• Determine disposition of returned goods
• Receive and analyze certain customer complaints
• Retrieve production samples (after deemed acceptable) of each blend and forward to Cupping Lab for sensory analysis
• Log blend change samples and quality issues for ISO purposes
• Ensure physical blend "target" samples are properly maintained and updated
• Perform general daily housekeeping in work area to maintain a quality/safe working environment
• Collect, organize and set up product samples for sensory cupping
