Job summary

Shearer's Foods is seeking a Food Quality Assurance Technician for the Afternoon Shift (2:30pm–11pm) in Ohio. The role includes performing laboratory tests, ensuring equipment calibration, and upholding SQF and GMP standards to protect quality across products.

You will work with production to verify checks, document results, and assist with audits and training, reporting to the Quality Supervisor. Salary is $22.50 per hour with a $1 shift differential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in QA/quality team in food & beverage manufacturing.
• Good attendance and reliability are required.
• Commitment to safety and a healthy workplace.
• Ability to read/understand and communicate with team.
• Basic math, conversions, and run-rate calculations.
• Ability to lead by example and follow policies.
• Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills to run production systems.
• Good time management to follow standard work instructions.
• Willingness to work pre-shift meetings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must be able to stand, lift up to 50+ pounds, and work up to 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and ensure equipment calibration.
• Monitor SQF, GMPs, food safety, labeling, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production to ensure quality checks and communicate results.
