Job summary

Shearer’s Foods in Ohio is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for a midnight to 7 am schedule, Thursday through Monday with Tue/Wed off. You will ensure analytical, microbiological and sensory quality, and support SQF and GMP compliance, while assisting the production team.

The role requires 2+ years in QA in a food manufacturing setting, good attendance, and a safety mindset. Hourly pay ranges from $22.50 to $24.50 with a $2 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA in a food and beverage manufacturing environment (2+ years).
• Good attendance is essential for this skilled QA role.
• Safety mindset to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate with team members.
• Ability to perform simple math, conversions, and use formulas for run rates.
• Ability to set an example, be reliable, punctual and follow policies.
• Ability to apply common sense and follow written or oral instructions.
• Basic computer skills required to run production software and systems.
• Willingness to work pre-shift meetings and weekends/holidays as needed.
• Flexible and able to adapt to scheduling and shift requirements.
• Physical: stand, lift up to 50+ lbs, frequent reaching and long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure analytical, microbiological, sensory attributes and corporate compliance are met.
• Perform laboratory testing and verify equipment calibration.
• Monitor facility operations for compliance with quality standards (SQF, GMP, labeling, food safety).
• Communicate quality results with production team and support audits and record-keeping.
