Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the Division of Developmental Disabilities in Phoenix, AZ. This role supports federal, state, and contractual requirements while overseeing incident management and staff audits to ensure high-quality services for Arizonans.

Key duties include providing technical assistance, supervising audits, coordinating investigations, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal and state laws and agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures surrounding DDD practices.
• Investigation practices, interviewing techniques, and risk management practices.
• Quality management.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical assistance and training to Division staff and provider agencies to ensure federal, state, and contractual requirements are met
• Supervising staff to include a systematic approach to auditing entry processes and fact finding reports; completing on-site audits of the licensed homes; driving to sites to conduct in-person interviews with members and direct reports; participating in individual supervisory meetings, personnel actions, hiring/interviewing, training, monitoring and evaluating to ensure all staff are qualified and competent to meet performance standards
• Overseeing entry of incidents into the Incident Management System, ensuring incidents meet established criteria; scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing investigations and program monitoring where contacted services are provided; coordinating activities DES Quality Assurance management, Health Care Services, Adult Protective Services (APS), Office of Special Investigations (OSI), Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation (OLCR), Tribal Protective Services, Law Enforcement, Department of Child Safety (DCS), and Department of Health Services (DHS) linking systems in regards to Incident Management
• Ensuring appropriate investigative closure, including detection of trends and patterns; reviewing Fact Finding Reports, Notification of Findings, and Health and Safety Reviews to ensure accuracy and applicability to state law, regulations, and rules
