Job summary

Hooper (HQ in Wisconsin) is seeking a QA/QC Technician to develop and maintain the QA/QC program for mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate ensures work meets high quality standards, complies with ASME/IPC/UPC/NFPA codes, and exceeds client expectations.

Role involves site inspections, testing coordination, documentation, and collaboration with project teams. Requires 2+ years in construction QC and knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or GED.
• Experience: 2+ years in construction quality control, with mechanical systems background (HVAC, plumbing, process piping).
• Certifications (preferred): CWI or ASNT Level II/III in NDE methods (RT/UT/MT/PT/VT).
• Knowledge: Codes and standards (ASME, IPC, UPC, NFPA, AWS, SMACNA) and ability to read drawings.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software like Procore/Bluebeam/ACC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QA/QC plans aligned with project requirements.
• Attend inspections and lead continuous improvement efforts for quality data trends.
• Oversee site inspections, testing, and ensure compliance with drawings/specifications.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation: reports, NCRs, and deficiency logs.
• Collaborate with project team to resolve quality issues and report progress.
