Job summary

Hooper is seeking a QA/QC Technician to develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control program for mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership to ensure that all work meets the highest quality standards and complies with codes such as ASME, IPC, UPC, and NFPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10+ years in construction quality management, with a strong background in mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, process piping).
• Certifications such as CWI or ASNT Level II/III in NDE are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, IPC, UPC, NFPA, AWS, SMACNA) and ability to read drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam) is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC plans and procedures for mechanical construction projects.
• Lead inspections for all project phases and mentor QA/QC personnel on site.
• Oversee testing, commissioning activities, and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and ensure timely reporting.
