Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer/Inspector to plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration activities to assure the quality of assigned product or component.

You will apply SPC, review design docs, supervise inspection activities, and provide data-driven reports to management. The role supports vendor quality, ASME B31 piping codes, welding inspection (CWI), and high‑purity piping, for data-center and semiconductor construction projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience supporting: ASME B31 piping codes, industrial or commercial construction (semiconductor preferred).
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field.
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Experience inspecting PP/ PVC piping systems.
• Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-purity piping.
• Experience with data center, mission-critical, or semiconductor projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure product quality.
• Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
• Apply SPC methods to analyze data and evaluate processes.
• Engage with QA Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, and non-conformance management.
• Provide project quality expectations to inspectors and teams.
• Attend weekly project update meetings and communicate upcoming activities and deadlines.
• Review purchased products or components and advise on acceptance and future purchases from vendors.
• Document data from quality assurance activities in line with company policies.
• Communicate issues identified and provide recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepare reports communicating involvement and results of QA activities.
• Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Engage with the General Contractor’s Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines.
• Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Rate: 70/hour

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience supporting:
  • ASME B31 piping codes
  • Industrial or commercial construction projects (semiconductor preferred)
  • Fabrication and welding inspections
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), maintained in good standing.
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as:
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
• Other specialty process piping materials * Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or semiconductor construction projects
• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-purity process piping systems
