Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Quality Control Manager to supervise inspections on critical projects such as data centers and semiconductor builds. You will lead two inspectors, plan audits, apply SPC, and ensure compliance with ASME B31, NDT practices, and AWS QC1 standards.

The role requires 8+ years in QC inspection, 3+ years supervisory experience, and a CWI certification, with experience in carbon steel, stainless, and high-purity piping systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in total Quality Control inspection.
• 3+ years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) under AWS QC1.
• Experience inspecting ASME B31 piping codes and NDT.

Responsibilities

• Supervise two direct reports for quality control inspections.
• Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure quality of product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
• Applies SPC methods for data analysis to evaluate current processes and changes.
• Engage with GC's QA Manager for inspection planning, compliance, audits, and non-conformance management.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with project group.
• Review all purchased products or components and input on acceptance and future purchases.
• Document data from QA activities and communicate significant issues to management.
• Prepare reports on QA activities and results and maintain knowledge of QA codes and standards.

• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Engage with the General Contractor's Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines.
• Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience supporting:
• ASME B31 piping codes
• Industrial or commercial construction projects (semiconductor preferred)
• Fabrication and welding inspections
• Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), maintained in good standing.
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as:
• Polypropylene (PP)
• Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
• Other specialty process piping materials
• Come from the GC or Subcontractor side (not owner QA or 3rd party experience)
• Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or semiconductor construction projects
• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-purity process piping systems
