Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a QA/QC Project Manager (Mechanical or Electrical) to support the Data Center Construction team in the United States. On-site work and coordination with owners, architects and contractors are key parts of the role.

The candidate will oversee governance, deliverables, and cost-related controls while driving constructability and value engineering for mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in mechanical systems.
• Experience with design or construction in mechanical or BMS controls.
• Experience commissioning mechanical systems in data centers.
• Proficiency with construction documents (BODs, specs, drawings, RFIs).
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, Project, Smartsheets.

QA/QC Project Manager- Data Center Construction

Position: Full-time.

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance PM (Mechanical or Electrical) to support the Data Center Construction team. Prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects is required.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Effective communication across our internal team to ensure efficiency and a consistent delivery to the client.
• Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
• Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
• Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.
• Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Rapid response to RFIs from the field.
• Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
• Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
• Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
• Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
• Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant project management experience, specifically working with mechanical systems in the built environment.
• Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
• Background working in design or construction with a mechanical or BMS controls experience.
• Background working in a vendor equipment factory supporting quality control processes of mechanical equipment.
• Background working in commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment in mission critical data centers.
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, Project, Smartsheets, and other construction project management tools.
