Senior Quality Assurance PM, Mechanical – Data Center Construction

Turner & Townsend are looking for an experienced Senior Quality Assurance PM, Mechanical to join our Data Center Construction team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively across the internal team to ensure efficiency and consistent delivery to the client.
  • Analyze, track, and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
  • Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
  • Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure approved design standards are applied correctly.
  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Forecast and update key project milestones.
  • Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Provide rapid response to RFIs from the field.
  • Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance as required.
  • Independently review status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in managing clients to develop excellent working relationships and maximize new opportunities.
  • Offer strategic thinking advice to project teams on approaches that achieve client and business objectives.
  • Capture knowledge and learnings from each project.
  • Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or an applicable bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant project management experience, specifically working with mechanical systems in the built environment.
  • Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Background in design or construction with mechanical or BMS controls experience.
  • Background in a vendor equipment factory supporting quality control processes of mechanical equipment.
  • Background in commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment in mission‑critical data centers.
  • Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, Project, Smartsheets, and other construction project management tools.
