Job summary

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors (UMEC), an EMCOR Group, Inc. subsidiary, is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality control on mechanical construction projects in Tempe, AZ.

The role reports to the Project Manager and focuses on ensuring compliance with codes, specs, and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have welding QC experience, AWS/CWI credentials, and familiarity with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104, plus NDТ knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation.
• Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ.
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients.
• Maintain welder certifications and inspection records.
• Support training and resolve quality issues.
