Job summary

Green Plains Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to follow best practices within the Quality Management System to maximize yield and quality. You will perform day-to-day testing and quality control under the Lab Manager and report to the QC Lab Manager.

Responsibilities include maintaining the QMS, operating and calibrating equipment, performing sample prep and analysis, and documenting results. The role demands safety training and compliance with QA/QC regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred; Associate degree with 3+ years lab experience considered.
• Experience with data analysis software is required.
• Knowledge of FDA/cGMP guidelines preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Monitors use and inventories of laboratory chemicals and supplies.
• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and calibrates laboratory equipment.
• Performs sample collection, preparation, and analysis per procedures.
• Collects and sends samples to outside laboratories for testing.
• Documents testing and calibration results in the data system.
• Communicate abnormal results promptly.
• Prepare reports and analyze data as applicable.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental policies.
• Follows QA/QC procedures and completes required safety training.
