Job summary

Tri-City Group in South Bend, IN seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager to oversee QA/QC, Commissioning, and LOTO on large electrical construction projects. You will partner with discipline managers to manage contracts, budgets, schedules, owner deliverables, and cross‑functional communication to support project turnover.

Responsibilities include liaison across QA/QC, Commissioning, LOTO, procurement, and field operations; reviewing subcontracts; tracking changes; and ensuring OSHA/NFPA

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive experience in electrical construction with QA/QC, commissioning, turnover, electrical safety/LOTO, or PM support for large projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, QA/QC, commissioning, turnover, contract requirements, and construction execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering or related technical discipline required or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, schedules, procurement, and change management.
• Experience on large-scale mission-critical projects (data centers, industrial facilities, healthcare) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the PM representative for QA/QC, commissioning, and electrical safety activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as liaison between PMO, Field Operations, QA/QC, Commissioning, LOTO, Procurement, Accounting, and Executives.
• Support managers by removing constraints and facilitating cross‑functional coordination.
• Monitor execution to identify risks to schedule, cost, and quality.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, labor, cost reports, and financial performance for QA/Cx scopes.
• Review labor loading, staffing forecasts, equipment takeoffs, and resources.
• Manage QA/Cx-related subcontract agreements, vendor commitments, PO, invoices, and change orders.
• Coordinate third-party contracts (NETA, startup technicians, testing contractors, temporary power).
• Review specs and contract documents for compliance and alignment with owner requirements.
• Track scope changes and opportunities for change orders or recovery of out-of-scope work.
• Facilitate issue resolution between field supervision, engineering, clients, vendors, and GC.
• Monitor NCRs, RFIs, commissioning deficiencies, and owner action items.
• Provide status updates to leadership; support turnover planning with documentation and warranties.
• Participate in owner, GC, and executive meetings representing QA/Cx.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and industry standards.
• Assist in RCA and CAPA processes.
