JRAD is seeking a QA/QC Analyst to oversee the quality management system for our chemical and biological laboratory at APG-EA, Maryland. The role emphasizes maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation and ensuring accuracy and reliability in testing processes.

You will lead QA/QC activities, manage data, support LIMS operations, and train staff. A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology and 2+ years in analytical lab QA/QC are required; DoD ELAP/17025 experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years in laboratory methods, regulations and instruments for CWAs/BDAs or EPA methods (e.g. SW-846).
• 2+ years as a QA/QC Specialist in Analytical Chemistry.
• 2+ years using LIMS as an end user and support.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and oral communication, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• QA/QC and QMS support, data management, and EDD report generation.
• Assist with QA Plans for fixed and mobile lab operations.
• Plan/execute internal QMS audits and external ELAP/CQAT audits.
• Maintain records for analytical methods and lab performance.

Job description

JRAD is seeking candidates for an immediate fill position supporting DEVCOM CBC. This position is at APG-EA in Maryland. The QA/QC Analyst will oversee the quality management system for our Client's chemical and biological laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our ISO 17025 accreditation, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in our testing processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to team members on their work products

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for QA/QC and Quality Management System (QMS) support, data management, and the design/generation of Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) reports.
• Assists with, monitors and supports Quality Assurance Plans for fixed site laboratory and mobile laboratory operations.
• In support of the Environmental Monitoring Laboratory (EML), assist in the planning, conduct and management:
  • Quarterly management team meetings and management reviews of QMS.
  • Annual Internal Audits of QMS.
  • Annual Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) External Audit.
  • Annual Chemical Agent Standard Analytical Reference Materiel (CASARM) Quality Assurance Team (CQAT) External Audits.
  • Weekly QAM/Branch Chief Meetings, QAM/Analytical Chemistry Manager (ACM) Meetings, and QAM/Air Monitoring Manager (AMM) Meetings.
• Maintains and prepares recommendations for improvements to Laboratory Quality Assurance Plans, checklists and supporting documents while recommending solutions to avoid/resolve non-conformances.
• Establishes and maintains records such as performance charts, control limits, detection and reporting limits for analytical laboratory methods and techniques (e.g., Gas Chromatography, MINICAMS, Mass Spectrometry, and solid sorbent air monitoring analytical methods).
• Gives input to and assists in maintaining databases for laboratory training and methodology certifications.
• Provides data management services to support fixed and mobile laboratory operations, laboratory documentation (e.g., procedures, training manuals, instructions and guidance), and recordkeeping.
• Serves as a user and maintainer of a highly customized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), supporting Help Line accessibility, trouble-shooting, interface, and hardware related technical support questions.
• Assists in the management, and continued operation, upgrade, and validation of the LIMS system.
• Familiar with Oracle PL/SQL, and the development of manual/automated testing scripts.
• Maintains training manuals and provides training to new staff in the use of LIMS and lab procedures

Required Skills and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in related field of study (i.e., Chemistry, Biology) from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years of experience with laboratory methods, analysis, techniques, regulations, protocols, safety measures and instruments of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) and/or Biological Agents and/or EPA laboratory methods (e.g., SW-846) for pesticides or semi-volatile analytical targets.
• 2+ years of experience as a QA/QC Specialist in an Analytical Chemistry setting, developing and implementing Quality Assurance requirements.
• 2+ years of experience using LIMS software, as an individual user and assisting with LIMS support as required.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Power Point.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and meticulous organizational skills.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Experience working in a fast paced laboratory setting.
• Experience with DAAMS and MINICAMS.
• Experience with the Department of Defense Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (DoD ELAP) and ISO 17025.
• experience with Horizon LIMS.
