Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Senior Chemical Technician (SRM) to support analytical operations in a controlled laboratory environment. The role focuses on quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses, quality and safety assessments, and strict SOP compliance.

The candidate will perform tests using instrumental methods, maintain equipment, and accurately document results. A vocational/technical credential with 2–5 years of experience or an equivalent combination

Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Preferred education/experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Chemistry or related discipline preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Analytical chemistry. Calibration. Laboratory equipment operation. Precision measurement. Sample collection. Record keeping. Laboratory equipment maintenance. Scientific testing. Test monitoring. Standard operating procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis.
  • Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment.
  • Prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments.
  • Follows established SOPs.
  • Sets up and maintains lab equipment.
  • Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results.
