Job summary

SeaBear Company in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead QA, food safety, and regulatory compliance within our seafood processing operations. This full-time, onsite role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and supports our commitment to craftsmanship and safety.

The role drives continuous improvement, oversees pest control, and ensures accurate documentation, with a Monday–Friday schedule at our headquarters and smokehouse.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in food manufacturing QA/food safety roles.
• 3+ years in direct leadership roles.
• Experience with GMPs and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with SQF, FDA & WSDA audits.
• Seafood HACCP and PCQI certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary contact for Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory issues for the plant.
• Develops, implements, and manages the Quality and Food Safety System.
• Ensures effectiveness of Pest Control programs.
• Analyzes QA data and KPIs to improve product quality.
• Oversees daily documentation and test-and-hold processes.
• Communicates compliance results to operations and provides technical support.
• Uses complaint data to drive root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Determines disposition of raw materials, packaging, and finished product HOLD orders.
• Develops systems to meet regulatory, customer, and third‑party audits.
• Knowledge of FDA labeling requirements; keep nutritional panels up to date.
