Job summary

CoolGames Limited, with HQ in Amsterdam, is seeking a QA Lead to make quality visible across producers, developers, management and platform partners. You will lead an international, partly remote QA team, shaping testing in an AI-assisted world while staying hands-on when needed.

The role interfaces with QA specialists and management, sharing responsibility and ensuring clear risk-based decisions. Flexible hybrid work is offered across studios and remote teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• 7+ years in software testing with team leadership (gamedev a plus).
• Solid grounding in SDLC and STLC, test design techniques and testing types/levels.

Responsibilities

• Bridge QA with production, development and management; translate tests into risk and go/no-go guidance.
• Be the voice of QA inside and outside the team; ensure understanding and standards with partners.
• Line management of the QA team and 1-on-1s; manage growth and workload.
• Weigh quality risks against business objectives and back prudent risk-taking when needed.
• Plan QA capacity across parallel projects and releases; flag quality risks early.
• Own quality reporting: release readiness, coverage and bug trends for the roadmap.
• Challenge the team to explore opportunities where AI accelerates testing without sacrificing fundamentals.
