Job summary

Richardson International in Carrington, ND is seeking a QA Lab Technician to ensure product quality, safety, and specification compliance within our durum milling and pasta production facility. The role includes testing samples, auditing production, and maintaining records with potential relocation support.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. A food-related degree is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a food-related field preferred (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Test samples to ensure product quality, safety, and specification compliance.
  • Audit production and packaging for accuracy in shapes, specifications, storage, packaging, labeling and coding.
  • Identify and manage non-conforming products and food safety hazards, ensuring issues are investigated and recommending solutions.
  • Maintain records, documentation, and retention samples.
  • Proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) Lab Technician at our Carrington, ND durum milling and pasta production facility, where we produce Dakota Growers pasta.

Responsibilities:
  • Test samples to ensure product quality, safety, and specification compliance
  • Audit production and packaging for accuracy in shapes, specifications, storage, packaging, labeling and coding

Physical Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Crouch, kneel, stoop, reach above shoulders, bend, balance, climb, work on ladder, push, pull, grasp, feel, perform fine manipulation, lift/carry (up to 50 pounds), sit, stand and walk for extended periods
  • Work in dusty, high heat/humidity environment
  • Communicate verbally and in writing, and distinguish objects or equipment visually
  • Work 12-hour shifts
