Job summary

Ventura Coastal is seeking a QA Lab Relief II in Visalia, CA to sample finished products and test inbound/outbound tankers, blends, silos, and packaged goods for analytical parameters. The role reports to the QA Supervisor and may cover any shift.

Responsibilities include communicating with production for timely sampling, performing routine tests, creating labels, and maintaining retention samples while ensuring CCPs are followed and data is accurately recorded.

Qualifications

• Two years of food processing experience.
• High school diploma; college courses in science are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment like auto titrators and centrifuges.

Responsibilities

• Sampling finished products, inbound/outbound tankers, blends, silos and packaged goods.
• Test samples for citric acid, brix, pulp, defects, flavor and color.
• Create retention sample labels and manage shelf life policies.
• Enter data accurately in the Portal/CitrOS/Sage and calibrate lab equipment.
• Coordinate with production to ensure timely sampling and avoid delays.
• Perform routine analyses and prepare COAs for products.
• Assist in lab audits and train technicians as needed.
• Follow all PPE and food safety rules and report non-standard conditions promptly.
