Job summary

JES Tech seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the NASA Johnson Space Center safety and mission assurance program. You will perform QA inspections on electromechanical systems across fabrication, installation, and testing, ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with email, document management, and basic software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting over 20 lbs.
• Teamwork across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA inspections of electromechanical systems, subsystems, and components during fabrication, installation, testing, modification, or repair per instructions and specs.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and technical personnel to accomplish inspection assignments.
• Witness basic tests and test setups for hardware; document results and prepare discrepancy documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with the QA Plan, policies, and procedures.
• Support safety, health, and environmental requirements; follow site safety policies and report concerns.
• Participate in training to become familiar with hardware, processes, and inspection tools.
• May serve as sole inspector for limited-scope areas under guidance; inspect as needed.
• Prepare discrepancy documentation with guidance from senior inspectors when needed.
• Maintain flexibility to ensure QA floor coverage.
• Demonstrate ability to handle increasingly complex inspections over time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
