Job summary

Bento is seeking a QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR for our Rhode Island plant. The role focuses on ensuring production quality and plant sanitation by enforcing GMP/HACCP and leading QA initiatives.

The incumbent will train the QA team, lead audits, maintain QA records, and drive continuous improvement with operations. Strong leadership and audit experience are essential.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Food Science or related field; 5 years QA experience preferred.
• GFSI/SQF experience and PCQI certification required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Leadership experience in a food processing facility preferred.
• Internal auditing skills preferred.
• Team player with ability to collaborate up and down the organization.
• Disciplined, motivated and accountable for QA matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA team and train QA technicians, identifying growth opportunities.
• Lead audits and assist the QA Manager during inspections.
• Maintain records of product specs, SOPs, SSOPs, and QA forms.
• Create training materials for GMP/HACCP and conduct routine training.
• Review testing results and coordinate corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Support third-party audits and customer/internal audits.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Oversee sanitation monitoring and coordinate with sanitation team.
• Manage direct reports and plan team development.
• Respond to customer/supplier complaints with timely actions.
