About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer to join our team supporting federal agency projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in quality assurance within complex data environments, including legacy systems and modern cloud platforms. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive QA strategies to ensure data accuracy, quality, and compliance across various technical environments.

The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as developers, data engineers, and product owners to validate data workflows, analytics platforms, and legacy systems. The position offers remote work flexibility with occasional onsite meetings in Washington, D.C., making it ideal for professionals based in or near the metro area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of QA experience, specifically supporting government data environments.
  • Proven ability to test data platforms, analytics environments, and legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with QA automation tools and frameworks relevant to cloud and data platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Experience working with government standards for data security, privacy, and access control.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed QA strategies, test plans, and test cases across complex data platforms and integration environments.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of cloud-based and on-premise data workflows, analytics platforms, and legacy systems.
  • Validate data across ETL pipelines, data lakes, and BI/AI/ML tools to ensure data quality, integrity, and lineage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with government standards related to data security, privacy, and access control.
  • Support QA documentation processes and provide evidence for compliance reviews and audits.
  • Conduct regression, integration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and performance testing in diverse technical environments.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and assist in timely resolution to maintain system integrity.
